It Just Keeps Getting Better

As I sit here thinking back on this past weeks events, I can't believe I've been here a whopping 3 weeks now and I love it more and more everyday. This past week was a lot of fun as I continued to get a feel for my job and the people I will be working with. Monday was a busy day at the hospital and a bit stressful because there were so many patients with lots of questions that I could not answer. Monday afternoon we (YFC staff) didn't do a whole lot because our office area is under construction and that is causing some problems. Tuesday was amazing! I got to work in physical therapy which I absolutely loved because I have been dying to work with the patients (kids) of the hospital and I finally had the chance to. I got to sing and dance and cheer up the kids and it was so much fun. That afternoon we went to Luperon, one of the ghettos, and visited people and promoted the event we had Saturday. Wednesday morning I worked at the front desk of the hospital and then in the afternoon we went to Luperon again to visit some other people. Thursday I got to work in PT again and I actually got some of my own patients which was pretty cool. We went to Luperon that afternoon and then had a girls night and watched a movie. Friday was absolutely ridiculous at the hospital because much of the staff was at an outreach clinic on the border of Haiti and there were 2 plastic surgeons that came in. So, there were patients out the wazoo! Saturday was so much fun because we took some of the youth out of the city to this property about an hour away that was beautiful and had a pool. We spent the day playing around in the pool and talking and what not and it was just cool to get to know some of the youth a bit better. I'm now starting my fourth week here as a Dominican and I can't wait. Everyday is different which would usually frustrate me but for some reason I kind of like it here. I start my Spanish tutoring with Alejandra on Tuesday which I so desperately need. If you could please pray for my Spanish that I would pick it more quickly and a pray of praise that the people here are so willing to help me with it. Keep the youth and the staff/volunteers in your prayers as they start school this week and as we try to get things planned out while being out of our office space. Thanks again for all of your support.

You have been busy! I laughed out loud picturing you singing and dancing with the kids in pt. I could picture God's love pouring out of into those kids. I am praying for your Spanish! Love you!
